Business Opportunities in life sciences
BIOMINAS has created two programs to identify and analyze business opportunities in the life science sector.
-
SEARCH is a program to identify and analyze projects in universities and research centers with potential to create new companies and/or transfer technology. In 2008, we have selected and analyzed 17 new projects.
-
PROSPECTA is an in demand program to big Brazilian and international companies interested in innovation and new technologies. Based on their interests, Biominas uses its network to search, receive and select adequate projects. In 2008, we developed a Prospecta program to Roche (Switzerland) that involved more than 800 researchers nationwide.
Brazilian Life Sciences – International Program
BIOMINAS and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX-BRASIL) launched in 2009 a program with three main goals:
-
Foster licensing and partnering agreements with foreign firms;
-
Increase exports from the domestic life science industry;
-
Establish the Brazilian life science sector as a worldwide provider of high quality and innovative products and services;
PRIME
BIOMINAS was selected by FINEP, the Brazilian Innovation Agency, as one of the operators of the PRIME Program.
With PRIME, BIOMINAS has now more than US$ 7 million to finance start-up companies in Brazil.
